Politicians allied to President
Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy,
William Ruto, have alleged a plot
by the Opposition to overthrow the
Jubilee Government before 2017.
Speaking yesterday, Mt. Kenya
legislators under the auspice of
Central Kenya Parliamentary
Group, sensationally claimed that
former Prime Minister, Raila
Odinga, and
CORD were working on
a strategy to overthrow Uhuru/
Ruto before the next election.
Led by the caucus patron, Meru
Senator Kiraitu Murungi, the Mt.
Kenya politicians said CORD had
developed a scheme to hound out
of office key individuals in the
Jubilee administration to weaken it
before 2017.
Murungi noted that the clamour by
the Opposition for the removal of
Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne
Waiguru, and the current push for
the impeachment of Education
Cabinet Secretary, Jacob Kaimenyi,
were part of Raila Odinga’s grand
strategy to sabotage Uhuru and his
administration with an aim of
ascending to power through the
backdoor.
“We have no doubt that come
2016, they (CORD) will be knocking
at the door of State House looking
for President Uhuru Kenyatta to
hound him out of office,” said
Murungi.
The Meru Senator called on Jubilee
MPs to shield Waiguru and
Kaimenyi from Raila’s political
machinations by voting against
their impeachment when the time
comes.
