It is one of the longest running conspiracy theories, and is often linked to claims of Satanism and alien takeovers.
Some go as far to say that the members are attempting to create a "New World Order" comprised of a single global government.
The young city celebrates its 50th anniversary early next year.
James Willis, author of Mysterious Milton Keynes, explains that conspiracy theorists all over the world have identified countless purported links between the Illuminati and Milton Keynes.

The book claims the city's structure, buildings, statutes and sculptures are linked to the society through symbols.
Pyramid-like structures are common around the town – and they are a key symbol of the mysterious alleged group.
The pyramid with the "All Seeing Eye" above it that features on the US dollar bill is the most recognised symbol of the Illuminati.
The Point, constructed in 1985, is home to Milton Keynes’ cinema and the Bletchley Park Leisure Centre was home to a large pyramid with a swimming pool from 1970, until it was demolished in 2010.
